SEE, LAY-ON – SALONE SATELLITE 2010, Fiera MILANO April 14-19
Exhibiting (Stand A-36):
Lic chair, 2010 – Rapigattoli chair, 2009 – Ermelinda chair, 2010
E. BENAMOR DUARTE
SEE, LAY –ON is a collection of three chairs evoking three tectonic methods commonly used in the building industry: lacing with steel (Lic chair); ribbing with birch ply-wood (Rapigattoli chair); or skinning in fiberglass (Ermelinda chair).
SEE, LAY –ON (i.e., see and reveal) conveys the beholder with a dual visual dimension beyond the chair’s performance as an object to seat on: Adding to something that take up space, something that can create space.
SEE, LAY –ON materializes a new transparency: reconstituting the beholder’s variable weight in the morphology of three chairs; alternatively revealing, framing or disguising, the user’s perception of surface material from the chairs´ position in space.
